This notice explains what personal data MinimumWage.org.uk currently processes, why that processing happens, and how to contact the site operator about privacy questions or rights requests.

1. Who is responsible for this site

MinimumWage.org.uk is operated through this website and can be contacted at [email protected].

This site is designed for workers in the United Kingdom who want to check National Minimum Wage and take-home pay information. The operator acts as the controller for the limited personal data described in this notice.

2. Personal data this site currently processes

The calculator runs in your browser. The values you type into the calculator are not currently saved to a user account or application database by the site itself.

Like most websites, the hosting and delivery of the site can still involve basic technical data such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and security or error logs.

If you email the site operator, your email address and the contents of your message will be processed so that the operator can read and reply to your enquiry.

3. Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor accepts analytics storage through the site's consent prompt. If analytics is accepted, Google Analytics can collect page view and usage data.

The site also stores your analytics preference locally in your browser so that your choice can be respected on later visits. You can change that choice at any time through the site's cookie settings control.

4. Why the data is processed and the lawful bases used

The site currently relies on the following main lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site
  • Consent for analytics cookies and Google Analytics measurement
  • Legitimate interests, and where relevant steps taken at your request, when responding to direct email enquiries

Official ICO guidance on privacy information is here: what privacy information should we provide.

5. Service providers, international transfers, and retention

The site is currently hosted on Firebase Hosting, and analytics is provided through Google Analytics 4. Depending on how those services operate, personal data may be processed by Google or its affiliated service infrastructure.

Some of that processing may take place outside the UK. Where this happens, the site operator relies on the provider's published contractual and technical safeguards for international transfers.

The application itself does not currently store calculator inputs in a user database. Technical logs, analytics data, and email records are kept only for as long as needed for security, measurement, troubleshooting, or correspondence, and should be reviewed periodically by the operator.

6. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access to personal data, ask for correction or deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent for analytics, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Privacy-related enquiries and rights requests can be sent to [email protected].
